Maria Papadaki is a vocalist, music tutor and choir director from Greece. She is currently leading the group Acapella Rising. She is also a member of the jazz quartet Barbican Jazz Band as well as the Hush Collective, which put on experimental music shows in complete darkness.
In 2015 she moved to London and started a Bachelors course at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. Studying there provided her with many opportunities to collaborate with musicians from all over the world and hone in on her skills both as a vocalist but also as a composer. After graduating from ICMP she began teaching piano, singing and music theory to both adults and children.
In September of 2021 she took the next step in her musical education by starting a Jazz Masters course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Amongst other notable performances, while studying there she has had the opportunity to perform with the Vocal Jazz Ensemble alongside Liane Carroll, and to record vocals for a documentary series for Apple.
With such a diverse background, Maria incorporates classical and contemporary music into her lessons, tailoring them to each individual student.
