Jacob studied with Sarah Pring and Adrian Thompson at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he graduated with a first class degree. This summer he will be joining the chorus as an Alvarez Emerging Artist at Garsington Opera in Donizetti’s L’Elisir D’amore and Beethoven’s Fidelio. Roles include Nemorino in L’Elisir D’amore, Chevalier de la Force in Dialogue de la Carmelites, the title role in Britten’s Albert Herring and Older Brother in Dead Man Walking.

Jacob was supported by the Josephine Baker Trust and has been a soloist for Bach’s Magnificat in D at Ely Cathedral, Bach’s B Minor Mass with Tonbridge Choral Society and the Creation with Solihull Choral Society.

Jacob was privileged to have been able to receive masterclasses from Nicky Spence and Dame Emma Kirkby and to be coached by Graham Johnson and Eugene Asti. In opera scenes modules he performed roles such as ‘Fenton’ in Nicolai’s Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor, Belfiore in Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera, and Meneleas in Offenbach’s Lord Essex in Britten’s Gloriana.

Jacob was a choral scholar at St. John’s Church, Hyde Park and was a member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain. Jacob grew up in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and attended the Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School. As a boy he was in Aylesbury Opera‘s children’s chorus for ‘Carmen’, played Shem in Britten’s Noyes Fludde and was Shepherd Boy in Puccini’s Tosca.
