A London-based pianist and composer, Reuben Goldmark was a finalist in the prestigious BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year competition in 2018 and has performed his compositions at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. Reuben’s music was also broadcast on BBC 4 and BBC Radio 3. He recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied with Kit Downes. Reuben incorporates a wide range of influences ranging from Messiaen to Mehldau in his music, combining the calculated detail of classical music with the turbulent nature of jazz and improvised music. Recently Reuben has been exploring his Ashkenazi Jewish heritage through his compositions and is a recipient of the 2022 Dankworth Prize for Jazz Composition.
